Eco Marine have been venturing far and wide this survey season and amongst one of the most fascinating destinations has been Guernsey in the Channel Islands. Earlier this summer, Eco Marine completed two surveys in Guernsey, each using a wide range of survey techniques including grabbing, drop down video (DDV), sediment quality and acoustic monitoring. Our team employed numerous techniques to identify a number of fascinating species and habitats in the dynamic coastal waters of the complex island network off the north east coast of France.
The Channel Islands are renowned for their beautiful and diverse marine life and are home to a wide range of species and protected habitats including seagrass and maerl beds. The coastal regions are important sites for breeding seabirds including puffins which can be seen in Guernsey between March and July. We look forward to working in Guernsey again soon!
