In spring 2026, Eco Marine completed surveys supporting an Environmental Impact Assessment on the proposed construction of a new southern terminal within Great Yarmouth Outer Harbour. Commissioned by Haskoning UK on behalf of the Great Yarmouth Port Company, Eco Marine carried out characterisation surveys to determine the status of the faunal communities and sediments present across the primary and secondary impact zones. The surveys involved an intertidal Phase I walkover survey alongside a subtidal benthic grab survey during which sediment samples were collected for macrofaunal and PSA analysis.
Following the completion of these ecological surveys and the subsequent sample analysis, a technical report was produced by the Eco Marine team. The report detailed the intertidal and subtidal faunal communities, EUNIS biotopes, and sediment types presents within the survey area and was fully illustrated with habitat maps created in ArcGIS.
